Arch Insurance (EU) dac has named Patrick Richard as head of casualty for France and Virginie du Parc Locmaria as senior casualty underwriter, effective September 15. Based in Paris, the pair will lead the expansion of Arch’s casualty portfolio in France, writing primary, umbrella and excess liability cover for industrial, manufacturing and services clients.

Richard (pictured above, left), who has 30 years of experience, previously headed casualty at Volante Global and held senior roles at Swiss Re and AXA. Du Parc Locmaria (pictured above, centre) also joins from Volante Global, with prior underwriting positions at Chubb, Hiscox and AIG

Regulatory consultancy Sicsic Advisory has appointed Sally Dewar as senior adviser to lead a new board practice. Dewar (pictured above, right), a former JP Morgan and UK Financial Services Authority executive, was most recently CEO of A&O Shearman's consulting arm, which she founded in 2018.

Her remit at Sicsic includes advising boards on governance reviews, accountability regimes, succession planning, board training and cultural assessments.

Willis strengthens placement and portfolio solutions

Willis, part of WTW, has added two senior hires to its placement and portfolio solutions team. Gina Mulhall joins as head of global portfolio solutions, overseeing Willis' Gemini facility and wider portfolio initiatives. She was previously managing director at Marsh.

Kapila Rudra takes on the role of head of data strategy for global placement, bringing 15 years of experience at Marsh and Canopius

Davies invests in claims technology leadership

Davies has appointed John Salt as group chief product officer in a newly created role. Salt will lead the development of the firm's claims technology suite, working with product and engineering teams globally.

Salt joined Davies in 2020 through its acquisition of Keoghs and has played a key role in rolling out AI-driven claims technologies. His appointment builds on the creation of the chief AI officer role last year, as Davies accelerates its Vision 2030 strategy centred on technology investment, operational excellence, geographic expansion and new client solutions.
