iFarm Underwriting, the UK farm and agriculture managing general agent (MGA) under Rokstone, has announced an extension of its multi-year capacity commitment through the Accelerant Risk Exchange.

The new arrangement introduces long-term support from Hadron UK Insurance Company, an issuing carrier rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best.

The agreement provides iFarm with access to a panel of A-rated carriers, supporting its growth and ongoing service to the UK agricultural sector. Hadron UK has committed to a five-year capacity agreement for iFarm’s Farm Combined, Farm Focus, and Property Owners’ Select portfolios.

Rokstone, iFarm’s parent, operates a broader agricultural and livestock insurance business, with a presence in both the US and UK markets. Rokstone’s partnership with Accelerant has previously enabled the company to secure capacity for niche livestock business.

iFarm has also undertaken expansion efforts, promoting Lee Ellis to head of the company and adding four new underwriters to its team. Ellis, who joined Rokstone in 2022, brings experience from previous roles at Geo Underwriting and Rural Insurance, and the new underwriters add further expertise in farm and agricultural insurance.

“We’re proud to announce this long-term partnership, introducing Hadron UK to our panel as we continue to offer agricultural brokers secure, sustainable capacity - critical in today’s market,” Ellis said.

In addition to expanding its underwriting team, iFarm has adopted automated claims handling through a partnership with Reserv Claims Analysis. This move is designed to streamline the claims process, allowing for real-time payments and improved broker experience.

Meanwhile, Hadron’s involvement in the UK market follows its acquisition of Folgate Insurance Company, a move that established Hadron UK as a capacity provider for specialty MGUs. The strategy is aimed at supporting managing general underwriters sourcing specialty coverages.

Ellis noted that iFarm has invested in its team of specialist underwriters and made changes to systems and processes to improve service. “This is now driving growth in our client base and network of brokers,” he said.
