Conduit Holdings, the parent company of reinsurer Conduit Re, has appointed William Randolph (pictured above) as its new chief risk officer.

Randolph will be based in Bermuda and will oversee Conduit Re’s enterprise risk management function. He joins the company’s executive leadership team and will report directly to CEO Neil Eckert.

Randolph brings two decades of industry experience, with a career that spans roles in the Bermuda and London markets. He previously held the position of chief risk officer at Relm Insurance and Validus Re. His earlier career includes senior actuarial roles at several reinsurance companies.

Eckert introduced Randolph as a well-regarded professional within the reinsurance sector and noted his understanding of enterprise risk management strategies.

“His leadership, technical knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in enhancing our risk function, and reinforces Conduit Re’s commitment to maintaining the highest standard of governance,” Eckert said.

The appointment comes amid a period of strategic activity for Conduit Re. In the first quarter of 2025, Conduit Holdings reported gross premiums written of US$410.2 million, marking a 15% increase compared to the same period the previous year.

Reinsurance revenue rose 17.6% to US$213.0 million, while the company’s board authorized a US$50 million share buyback plan during the quarter.

The announcement also follows recent leadership changes within the company. Conduit Holdings named Nick Pritchard as interim chief underwriting officer after the departure of Gregory Roberts.

In 2024, Conduit Re wrote US$1.16 billion in gross premiums, a 24.8% increase from the prior year. However, the company also reported a decline in its reinsurance service result and comprehensive income over the same period.

Separately, Conduit Re has continued to support industry development initiatives in Bermuda. The company recently hosted student interns from the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS) as part of its engagement with the local insurance community.
