Web Connectivity Limited (WCL), a Zywave company, has launched an enhanced digital platform for treaty risk placement in Bermuda.
According to a news release, the WCL enabledPlacing platform was developed in collaboration with major reinsurance brokers and underwriters. It consolidates treaty submissions from multiple brokers into a single, standardized interface using ACORD Standards. The platform aims to reduce inefficiencies in data management and streamline underwriting workflows, which are often complicated by disparate broking systems.
The platform became operational last week for Ark Bermuda and Vantage Risk, working alongside Aon’s Reinsurance business.
“Having an end-to-end solution from placing through settlement has been a long-term goal of the industry,” said Troy Hughes, global director of eCommerce at Aon. “This initiative represents a great achievement toward a true data-first marketplace that empowers insurer clients with more real-time insights, greater transparency, and improved efficiency when optimizing reinsurance placements.”
WCL managing director James Willison described the launch as a continuation of progress made during a pilot project earlier in 2025. “We’ve worked closely with brokers and carriers on the island to deliver digital accounting, settlement, and claims solutions – and this new platform answers a clear need for a simplified, digital way to access and manage risk submissions,” Willison said.
The enabledPlacing platform offers reinsurers a single user interface for reviewing and interacting with broker submissions. It supports automated ingestion of large modelling files and applies standardized data formats through ACORD GRLC ePlacing standards.
“This is a proud moment for our team and the market. We’ve worked hard to bring this vision to life, and we’re excited to be at the forefront of this industry-first initiative,” said Casey Chlebek, Ark Bermuda’s head of underwriting operations.
Additional participants, including Lockton Re and RenaissanceRe, are expected to be onboard by early 2026. WCL said it will host a roundtable event titled From Vision to Reality in Bermuda on Nov. 5 to present the solution and begin onboarding the next cohort of participants.
“Placing is the next digital frontier, requiring transformation in technology and process alike,” said Clarissa Montecillo, ACORD managing director for the United Kingdom. “We are proud to provide the ACORD community and the global (re)insurance market with the data standards to provide that foundation for a truly interconnected digital ecosystem.”
