TransRe has promoted four executives to leadership roles spanning client relations, underwriting and portfolio management, the reinsurer has announced.
Desmond Pollock (pictured above, left) has been named to lead TransRe's Go-To-Market team, which oversees client and broker relationships, analytics and market communications. Pollock joined TransRe in 2006 to lead the regional unit of the US Custom team and assumed leadership of the full US Custom team in 2017. He will report to Paul McKeon, president of global underwriting.
Eyal Shnaps has been appointed to lead the US Custom team. Shnaps joined TransRe's Capital Partners Group in 2014 and most recently served as global property portfolio leader, where he was responsible for property strategy, analytics and aggregate management. He will report to John Fugit, chief underwriting officer for North America.
Mike Torre has taken on responsibility for the global property portfolio in addition to his existing role overseeing third-party capital strategy. Torre joined TransRe in 2018 and will report to Lisa Moser, president of global portfolio management, in his expanded position as global property portfolio and third-party capital leader.
Maryam Haji (pictured above, right) has been named global head of research and catastrophe management. Since joining TransRe in 2014, Haji has led the validation of third-party catastrophe models, developed the company's property risk assessment framework and integrated cyber modeling into exposure management workflows. She will continue to report to Moser.
McKeon said the latest promotions are aimed at strengthening support for front-line teams. "In today's market, it is more important than ever that our front-line teams have the best possible support to help deliver the service and capabilities that our partner clients and brokers expect and deserve," he said.
The promotions follow a series of leadership changes at TransRe in 2025. In May, the company promoted Louise Rose to president, International, and Kyle Rhodes to president, Americas, following the retirement of Andy Taylor after 25 years with the firm.
Rose, a 28-year veteran of TransRe, oversees strategic direction for the company's London, EMEA and Asia Pacific operations, while Rhodes provides oversight for North America and Latin America.
