Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) has announced two leadership appointments as part of its ongoing organizational moves.
Simon Wainwright (pictured above, left) has been named executive vice president, while Lauren Lowe (pictured above, right) has been promoted to director of regulatory reporting.
Wainwright, who has been with RGA for nearly 14 years, will serve as an adviser to the group CEO and join the Group Executive Committee. He is based in London.
In his previous role, Wainwright served as executive vice president and head of Europe, Middle East and Africa from November 2021 to January 2026. Before that, he held the position of managing director for the EMEA region starting in October 2019.
His transition to the advisory role comes after RGA posted record third-quarter results in 2025. The company's EMEA Financial Solutions segment delivered US$140 million in adjusted operating income before taxes during that period, up from US$86 million in the prior year, driven by favorable longevity results.
His tenure at RGA began in March 2012 as managing director and chief operating officer for EMEA. During this time, the company has provided life and health reinsurance products to insurers across the UK, with a focus on mortality, morbidity and longevity risk transfer.
Prior to joining RGA, Wainwright spent over 14 years at HSBC in various leadership positions. He served as CEO of HSBC Insurance from December 2010 to March 2012 and as CEO of HSBC Bank Plc in Ireland from January 2008 to November 2010.
Wainwright holds an MBA from Henley Business School and a BSc in Banking and Finance from LIBF.
Lowe has been promoted to director of regulatory reporting after serving as director of structured finance since March 2023. In that role, she managed existing transactions and relationships with financing partners while ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
She joined RGA in August 2009 and has held multiple positions within the company over her 16-year tenure. Her previous roles include Manager of Structured Finance, Accounting Analyst for Structured Finance and Senior Staff Accountant for Finance Expense Management.
