Re/insurance brokerage Protecdiv has appointed Joe Monaghan (pictured above) as an Independent non-executive director on its board of directors, effective immediately.

Monaghan is currently CEO of Euclid Mortgage Insurance Services, LLC, a managing general agency he co-founded. Euclid Mortgage focuses on underwriting credit risk for portfolios of residential mortgages and develops insurance-based solutions to optimize capital efficiency, increase liquidity, and reduce credit loss volatility for a range of clients, including banks, government entities, investors, mortgage insurers, and mortgage servicers.

Prior to his current role, Monaghan spent 26 years at Aon, where he held several senior leadership positions. His most recent role at Aon was global growth leader of reinsurance. He also served as CEO of Aon’s Public Sector Partnership, working with governments and public institutions to enhance resiliency and operational effectiveness.

“His leadership experiences at Aon, along with his deep understanding of the insurance and reinsurance markets, will be pivotal as we continue to scale our operations and expand our services,” said Kael Coleman, CEO of Protecdiv.

“Protecdiv’s dedication to driving innovation and serving its clients aligns with my own professional values, and I am eager to contribute to the company’s continued success,” Monaghan said.

Last month, Protecdiv also promoted Cate DelaCruz to executive vice president and head of analytics. DelaCruz, who joined the firm in 2020, will direct the expansion and strategy of the analytics platform, manage the creation of proprietary tools, and support reinsurance, insurance, and mortgage credit risk operations.

Her new responsibilities also include advancing the firm’s use of data-driven decision-making and strengthening its value proposition for clients and partners.

In May, Protecdiv appointed David Castillo as executive vice president and national construction practice leader. Castillo brings more than 30 years of industry experience and is tasked with leading the company’s efforts in expanding its construction and surety business, overseeing risk management strategies and client solutions in the construction, public works, and surety sectors.
