Price Forbes Re has appointed Tim Barber (pictured above) as CEO, London, where he will oversee the company’s London reinsurance operations and contribute to the integration and development of its global reinsurance business.
Barber will report directly to Chris Bonard, president of Price Forbes Re.
In his new position, Barber will be responsible for leading the London team and supporting the broader growth of Price Forbes’ reinsurance franchise. He is expected to leverage his industry background to enhance the firm’s client offering and help establish new relationships in the market.
Barber brings more than 40 years of experience in the reinsurance sector. He joins Price Forbes Re from QBE Re, where he most recently served as head of North America, based in New York.
His previous roles include executive director of casualty reinsurance at both Benfield Group and Aon Limited London. Barber began his career at Wigham Poland Reinsurance Brokers, spending nine years in various broking positions, including several international assignments.
“Tim’s appointment marks a significant step forward for Price Forbes Re, both in London and globally, as we continue to grow and evolve," Bonard said. "It’s emblematic of the strength of our platform that we’re able to attract someone of Tim’s caliber and experience.”
Price Forbes Re has also made recent leadership appointments to support its global strategy. In February, the company named Sherman Power as executive vice president, alternative risk and capital solutions.
Based in Dallas, Power will work with the treaty reinsurance team to expand Price Forbes Re’s capacity in alternative risk and capital strategies, focusing on growth capital and reserve covers for evolving insurance markets. The firm also appointed Isidora Alemparte as wordings director, a newly created role overseeing contract management strategy and integration.
In October 2024, Price Forbes Re also appointed Colin Kelley as chief commercial officer, a newly created position designed to lead global solutions across insurance, reinsurance, and capital markets.
Kelley, who joined the firm in 2020, brings over 20 years of experience and will collaborate with teams in Bermuda, London, and the US to develop solutions for clients and trading partners.
