AXA XL Reinsurance has appointed Dan McCrosson as senior underwriter, US property treaty. McCrosson shared the announcement in a LinkedIn post.
McCrosson joins AXA XL Re’s US property treaty reinsurance team in Stamford, CT. He brings more than 15 years of industry experience in treaty underwriting, having worked across various property classes of business on a primary basis, including construction and inland marine.
He most recently served as vice president and senior treaty underwriter at Swiss Re, where he spent nearly five years writing property treaty business for both national and regional clients. Before that, McCrosson spent almost 12 years at Hiscox, where he served as assistant vice president in the alternative division.
McCrosson holds a degree from Manhattan College, which he attended from 2004 to 2008.
AXA XL Reinsurance is the property and casualty (P&C) and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA. The company provides reinsurance solutions that help insurers manage large and complex risks across multiple sectors.
Globally, the treaty reinsurance sector is evolving amid rising climate-related losses, economic uncertainty, and demand for innovative coverage structures. Reinsurers are increasingly adopting advanced modelling, analytics, and alternative capital sources to strengthen portfolio resilience.
