Hamilton announces new CEOs for Bermuda and London divisions

Hamilton Insurance Group has announced a series of leadership appointments across its global operations, including new chief executive officers for both its Bermuda and London platforms, and the creation of a new group underwriting role.

All appointments are subject to required regulatory approvals, and in one case, immigration approval.

Adrian Daws (pictured above, left) has been named CEO of Hamilton Re, the company’s Bermuda-based reinsurance division. He will succeed Megan Graves, who is retiring at the end of 2025. Daws is currently CEO of Hamilton Global Specialty, based in London.

Daws joined Hamilton in 2015 as head of specialty and deputy active underwriter, later becoming active underwriter for the company’s Lloyd’s syndicate in 2018. He has over 25 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance.

Succeeding Daws in the London office will be Alex Baker (pictured above, middle), who has been appointed CEO of Hamilton Global Specialty. Both Daws and Baker will join the executive management team and report to group CEO Pina Albo.

Baker joined Hamilton in 2016 and was appointed group chief risk officer in 2022. His previous roles included chief risk officer and chief actuary at Hamilton Global Specialty.

Tim Duffin (pictured above, right) has been appointed to the newly created role of group chief underwriting officer, based in Bermuda. He will also join the executive management team and assume the post effective Jan. 1, 2026, pending regulatory approval.

Duffin, who has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance markets of Bermuda and London, joined the company in 2012 as senior vice president of property. He was named chief underwriting officer of Hamilton Re in 2017.

Board chair David A. Brown acknowledged the appointments, stating that the promotions are aligned with the company’s strategy and are positioned to maintain operational continuity.

“We are fortunate to have such strong and talented individuals on the Hamilton team; employees who are aligned with our strategy and values and who are able to seamlessly step into key roles and continue our forward momentum and success,” Brown said.

Albo said the promotions reflect Hamilton’s internal development efforts and noted that each executive has played a role in advancing the company’s global specialty insurance and reinsurance strategy.

Graves, who has served as CEO of Hamilton Re since 2020, will step down after five years with the company. During her tenure, she oversaw the expansion of Hamilton Re into a diversified platform, helped build out its key client relationships, and supported the company’s A rating from AM Best.

The new leadership moves follow broader internal promotions earlier at Hamilton Global Specialty. These included Mike Thorp being named head of space underwriting and Chris Golder taking on the role of head of treaty underwriting.

In parallel with management changes, Hamilton’s board composition has also evolved. In May, the company appointed Karen Green and David Priebe as new non-executive directors.
