Fergus Re has appointed Stewart Ritchie as chief executive officer, tasking him with overseeing daily operations and strategic direction in Bermuda.
Former CEO Navin Dadlani will transition to chairman of the board.
The company said Ritchie’s responsibilities include management of the reinsurer’s business activities, setting strategy, and building its team and relationships in Bermuda. His experience with complex loss portfolio transfers and legacy liability management was cited as relevant to the position.
Ritchie most recently held dual roles at Fortitude Re’s Bermuda operations, serving as chief financial officer and chief operating officer from May 2022 through October 2025. Before that, he was CEO of R&Q Re (Bermuda) Ltd. between September 2019 and May 2022. He also worked as senior vice president for legacy M&A at R&Q Legacy.
Earlier in his career, Ritchie spent more than a decade at PwC Bermuda, where he advanced from senior associate to director. He began his career at Williamson & Dunn in the United Kingdom as a trainee chartered accountant.

Ritchie holds a degree in accounting and finance from Robert Gordon University and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and reinsurance sector, with a focus on the Bermuda market.
