MADA Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Co. has named Eman Mojali (pictured above) as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Mojali brings nearly three decades of experience to the role, having previously served as CEO of Bahrain National Insurance. She has also held board positions with several organizations in Bahrain, according to a statement from the company.
MADA Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Co. said that it remains focused on delivering insurance services designed to address the varied requirements of clients in Bahrain and other markets.
The appointment comes at a time of increased activity and transformation in the Middle East’s reinsurance sector. Fidelis MEASA, part of The Fidelis Partnership, recently marked its first anniversary in Abu Dhabi and has been expanding its specialist re/insurance capabilities across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
According to CEO and CUO Youssef Al Kareh, the company’s approach includes aligning insurance solutions with regional economic priorities, such as supporting mortgage and infrastructure development, and investing in training local talent to build a sustainable insurance ecosystem in the region.
Other international players are also expanding their presence. In August, Howden Re secured a full reinsurance license from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, allowing it to operate from the Dubai International Financial Centre. The company’s Dubai team now exceeds 200 professionals, and the new license supports growth across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, with a focus on treaty, facultative, and managing general agent reinsurance offerings.
The region’s insurance market is also being shaped by broader economic trends. According to Swiss Re, the Middle East and Pakistan region is projected to see real GDP growth of 2.8% in 2025, with insurance premiums forecast to rise by 5.4% in real terms.
Economic diversification, regulatory reforms, and new risk classes, including cyber and climate-related risks, are contributing to the evolving landscape for insurers and reinsurers in the region.
