The Cayman International Reinsurance Companies Association (CIRCA) has announced its board of directors and leadership team for 2026.

The appointments follow what the organization described as a year of increased engagement and global visibility for the Cayman Islands' reinsurance sector.

Faramarz Romer (pictured above), of Greenlight Re, will serve as chair, while R Cameron Leitch of Hildene Re takes on the role of vice chair. The board comprises 15 members representing reinsurance companies operating in the jurisdiction.

Board members include Tyler Bent of Knighthead, Darryl Cardozo of RBC Insurance, Ahwaz Chagani of Oceanview, Jordan Comacchio of Longtail Re, and Bridget Dunn of Talcott. Additional directors are Brian Green of Topsail Re, Peter McKelvy of Northern Re, Eric Marhoun of Nassau, Greg Mitchell of Aureum Re, Fearghal O'Riordan of Axonic, Brandon Smith of Accelerant, Sheng Tseng of F&G, and Richard Zebleckas of Aspida.

The management committee will be led by Romer as chair and Leitch as vice chair, with Cameron Dunn of Knighthead serving as treasurer. David Self continues in the role of general manager.

CIRCA also named chairs for its sub-committees. Conor Kearney of Hildene Re will lead the marketing committee, while Simranjit Singh of Northern Re heads the social committee. Erik Fell of Ascendant chairs the membership committee, and Faith Dube of Axonic takes on the regulatory committee.

Outgoing chair Greg Mitchell said the association had focused on ensuring the Cayman reinsurance narrative is communicated by industry participants. "Through direct engagement with regulators, industry leaders, and the media, we have worked to reinforce the strength, transparency, and credibility of Cayman," Mitchell said.

Romer outlined his priorities for the coming year, noting that CIRCA has a growing membership base and relationships with industry stakeholders. "I look forward to building on this momentum while continuing to advocate for Cayman as a leading, transparent, and resilient reinsurance domicile," he said.

The leadership transition at CIRCA coincides with a similar refresh at the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC), which confirmed its own 2026 Executive Committee following its annual general meeting. IMAC also established a Talent Development Committee as part of efforts to address workforce development and succession planning in the Cayman insurance sector.
