Aon plc has appointed Richard Norman (pictured above) as senior broker within its Reinsurance Solutions Global ReSpecialty Property team, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
In the new position, Norman will focus on Aon’s Risk Capital strategy, working with clients seeking solutions that span both commercial risk and reinsurance.
Norman will report to Dustin Fabbian, senior broker and member of Aon’s property leadership team. He joins the Global ReSpecialty Property unit after serving in Aon’s Commercial Risk Solutions business as head of global property broking within the Global Broking Centre.
Aon said Norman brings almost 40 years of leadership experience in the London and European property markets. Over his career, he has also led teams in Bermuda and London and developed long-standing relationships with many of Aon’s largest insurer clients.
Richard Wheeler, co-CEO of Global ReSpecialty at Aon, said the appointment is expected to strengthen the firm’s client offering in property reinsurance.
“We’re very excited that Dickie is joining us in Global ReSpecialty, and are confident that his expertise and relationships will support our clients’ continued successes,” Wheeler said.
Global ReSpecialty is Aon’s specialty reinsurance and retrocession division. The unit provides solutions across property specialty, marine energy, composite and construction, casualty, aviation, cyber, credit, contingency, and accident and health lines.
Norman’s move into Global ReSpecialty comes as Aon has been reshaping senior broking leadership across its reinsurance platform. In October, the firm named London-based Anshuman Srivastava global chief broking officer for reinsurance, reporting to global head of strategy for reinsurance George Attard.
Those changes also sit within a wider leadership overhaul in Aon’s reinsurance solutions division earlier this year.
The firm introduced a new structure that installed Alfonso Valera as CEO of international for reinsurance, Steve Hofmann as CEO of Americas for reinsurance, Attard as global head of strategy, and Tomas Novotny as chairman of international for reinsurance.
Aon has also been expanding its regional reinsurance leadership, particularly in North America, where it appointed Josh Carson as Dallas business leader for reinsurance. In the same period, it named Nick Nudo as US casualty segment leader for its Reinsurance Solutions division.
