Europ Assistance Australia and New Zealand (EA ANZ) has appointed Justin Sebire (pictured) as its new chief executive officer, effective Nov. 10. Sebire’s appointment follows the departure of Anna Gladman, who led the organisation for nearly two years.

Sebire brings experience from across the insurance sector, having held senior roles in general, health, and life insurance, most recently as CEO of Zurich Cover-More for the Asia-Pacific region. His leadership is expected to support EA ANZ’s efforts to expand its travel insurance and assistance services in Australia and New Zealand.

Hassen Bennour, CEO for Asia, Pacific & Middle East at Europ Assistance, commented on the appointment: “Justin’s extensive leadership experience in the insurance sector across Australia and New Zealand will be instrumental as we continue to build our presence in the region and help keep travellers safe with travel insurance and 24/7 assistance.”

Anna Gladman’s tenure and career background

Gladman exits EA ANZ after serving as CEO from January 2024 to November 2025. Her career includes executive positions at several insurance and financial services organisations. Before joining Europ Assistance, Gladman was CEO of nib Travel, overseeing travel insurance products under brands such as nib, Travel Insurance Direct, and World Nomads. She also held leadership roles at LFI Group, Latitude Financial Services, GE Capital, BT Financial Group, and Suncorp Group, with responsibilities spanning product management, strategy, and operational delivery in both life and general insurance.

Bennour acknowledged Gladman’s contributions: “We sincerely thank Anna Gladman for her leadership and valuable contributions during her time with Europ Assistance and extend our best wishes for her continued success in the future.”

Market expansion into New Zealand

The appointment of Sebire as CEO of EA ANZ follows Europ Assistance’s recent expansion into the New Zealand market. In early 2025, Europ Assistance began offering travel insurance and emergency assistance through a partnership with Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), which operates more than 45 retail outlets and additional distribution channels in New Zealand. The arrangement allows EA ANZ to offer travel insurance and assistance services through FCTG’s retail locations in both the North and South Islands. Under the partnership, customers can access travel insurance and emergency assistance at more than 45 FCTG outlets.

Gladman described the partnership as a key element of the company’s plans in the travel sector. “We are thrilled to become Flight Centre Travel Group’s preferred travel insurance provider and be trusted with caring for their customers through an integrated travel offer that includes insurance,” she said at the time.
