Chubb Life Insurance New Zealand has expanded its executive leadership team with three new appointments. The company said the changes are intended to support growth and innovation in the New Zealand insurance market.
The new appointments include Sharron Botica as chief customer and marketing officer, Andrew Webster as chief growth officer, and Damien Leng as chief innovation officer.
“Sharron, Andrew and Damien individually and collectively bring an enormous breadth of industry experience to Chubb Life, and we look forward to welcoming them to the team over the coming weeks,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Botica, who joins on March 30, is a former AIA executive with expertise in life and health insurance. She served as chief partnership distribution and marketing officer, chief customer and digital officer, acting chief executive officer, and chief customer officer during her stint of more than seven years at AIA. Prior to that, she took on senior roles at Sovereign.
Webster will take up his post on April 7 following a 10-month sabbatical. Webster previously led one of New Zealand’s largest distribution teams at ANZ Bank. He served as regional manager and head of business development before serving as general manager for more than 16 years at ANZ.
Leng, who is starting on April 13, brings a track record of agile delivery from roles at Westpac, ASB, and Assurity Consulting.
The leadership expansion comes as Chubb Life NZ continues to focus on customer acquisition and adviser engagement. Heading into 2026, the insurer extended its “Lifetime Reward” initiative - offering a 15% premium discount for eligible new customers - alongside additional incentives such as free initial cover periods, reflecting a broader push to improve affordability and attract new business.
The company has also signalled further activity planned for 2026, following a period of organisational change and investment in distribution and partnerships during 2025.
Across the New Zealand life insurance market, competitors including Fidelity Life and AIA New Zealand have likewise focused on adviser support, pricing initiatives and customer engagement, highlighting ongoing competition around access to cover and distribution strength.
The additions to Chubb Life’s leadership team reflect this broader trend, as insurers look to combine distribution capability with customer-focused strategies in an evolving market.
