Steadfast New Zealand has reported a 10% increase in broker membership for the financial year ending June 2025 (FY25), reflecting continued growth in its national network.

The company – which operates as part of the wider Steadfast Group spanning Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the US – is based in Auckland and led by CEO Neil Cousins. The board is composed primarily of New Zealand-based broker representatives.

Cousins said the organisation’s focus remains on supporting brokers as the insurance landscape evolves.

“We are dedicated to empowering our brokers with tools, resources, and guidance so they are well-equipped to capitalise on opportunities and deliver superior service to their clients, and meet the demands of a constantly evolving market,” he said.

Digital platforms and technology integration

Steadfast NZ has continued to invest in digital solutions for its broker network. Among its key platforms is the Steadfast Client Trading Platform (SCTP), which provides brokers with access to a range of domestic and commercial insurance products from multiple insurers.

The SCTP enables brokers to compare policies and pricing in real time, streamlining the placement process.

The company also offers INSIGHT, a back-office system designed to assist brokers with policy administration, claims handling, and reporting.

According to Cousins, these platforms are intended to enhance broker productivity and efficiency.

“SCTP and INSIGHT have been gamechangers for our network members; they’re both purpose-built platforms for brokers that went beyond anything available on the market,” he said.

Looking ahead, Steadfast NZ is preparing to introduce Steadfast Apps, a new platform that will integrate the group’s insurtech solutions.

The application is expected to include features such as automated workflows, risk management tools, and digitised claims notification.

Cousins noted that the rollout is scheduled for next year and will further support brokers in adapting to market changes.

Professional indemnity and broker support

Members of the Steadfast NZ network have access to the Erato Professional Indemnity program, which has been managed by Steadfast Group for over two decades.

The program is designed to provide brokers with claims management support and help safeguard their professional interests.

“Erato provides our brokers with timely claims management to protect our brokers’ assets and reputation, as well as protecting their clients from uninsured losses,” Cousins said.

Steadfast NZ also delivers ongoing education and networking opportunities for its members, including webinars, forums, professional development days, and an annual conference.

These initiatives are aimed at keeping brokers informed about regulatory updates, market trends, and best practices.

Expansion of personal lines and insurer partnerships

The growth in membership coincides with Steadfast Group’s expansion of its client trading platform in New Zealand to include personal lines insurance.

Ando Insurance Group has become the first insurer to offer home, contents, and motor insurance through the SCTP.

Cousins said the addition of personal lines follows the success of the business package offering on the platform, which involved six insurers.

“The response to, and success of, our pilot allowed this national launch across the Steadfast network to be accelerated and occur ahead of schedule,” he said.

The integration of personal lines is expected to simplify processes for both brokers and insurers, supporting more efficient client interactions.

Ando CEO John Lyon said his company is looking forward to working with Steadfast brokers through the platform, noting the benefits of faster and more efficient service delivery.
