Howden New Zealand has appointed Mark Kenyon (pictured) as a partner in its Wellington team. Kenyon brings more than 30 years of expertise to the firm and officially began his role this month.
According to a company announcement on LinkedIn, Kenyon joins with more than 30 years of experience in leadership, complex claims management, and client advisory roles across both New Zealand and Australia.
“Mark has built a career grounded in strong relationships, technical expertise and a deep commitment to client outcomes,” Howden stated on LinkedIn. “His background includes leading large regional teams, opening new offices, and managing significant commercial portfolios, as well as extensive experience in major property, liability, contract works and marine claims across New Zealand and Australia.”
Before joining Howden, Kenyon held several senior roles. At Aon, he served as regional manager, overseeing nine branches across the Lower Hutt, Manawatu, Wanganui, and Taranaki regions, and previously managed the Aon Insurance Brokers branch in Palmerston North for five years. He spent nearly 14 years at Crawford & Company as a chartered loss adjuster and branch manager in Palmerston North.
Early in his career, he held claims-focused roles at FMG (Farmers Mutual Group) and at Lombard General Insurance in the United Kingdom.
Kenyon expressed enthusiasm for his new role in Wellington. “I’m genuinely excited to be joining Howden as a partner in Wellington. I’m looking forward to being part of the growth and expansion of Howden in New Zealand. The culture, people and client focus energises and excites me,” he said.
The appointment comes amid ongoing growth for Howden in New Zealand during 2025 and into 2026, as the global broker continues to build out its regional footprint and sector expertise.
In recent months, the business has made a series of hires and leadership additions across its New Zealand operations, alongside continued investment in specialist capabilities and client advisory services. This reflects a broader strategy by Howden Group Holdings to expand in key international markets, including Asia-Pacific.
The firm has also continued to integrate capabilities following its global acquisitions and expansion strategy, with a focus on scaling local teams while maintaining access to international placement and specialty expertise.
