Allianz Partners has appointed Okan Özdemir as its new chief officer for health and Board member, effective Sept. 1. He succeeds Ida Luka-Lognoné, who led the global health business for the past decade.
Özdemir joins from Allianz Türkiye, where he was chief health officer and executive board member since 2019. Over his 24-year career at Allianz, he has held several senior positions, including chief marketing officer. The company said he played a key role in strengthening its leadership in health insurance and advancing digital transformation.
He holds a degree in business administration from Istanbul University and a master’s degree in business from the European School of Management and Technology.
In his new role, Özdemir will oversee Allianz Partners’ health portfolio worldwide and expand its presence in the global health segment.
Allianz Partners CEO Tomas Kunzmann said the appointment reflects the company’s growth ambitions.
“We are pleased to welcome Okan as our new chief officer for health, following Ida Luka-Lognoné, who has made a lasting impact on our organisation,” Kunzmann said. “Okan’s deep know-how in Health as well as his experience in digital transformation will serve well in the further expansion of the [company’s] health business and it reflects Allianz Partners’ strong momentum and our ambition to double revenues by 2030.”
He added that health remains a “critical pillar” of the company’s strategy, with a focus on developing innovative solutions for customers worldwide.
Luka-Lognoné, who has been with Allianz Group for 30 years, led Allianz Partners’ Health business since 2015. The company said she was instrumental in building new customer segments, expanding operations globally, and positioning the business as a leader in health innovation.
Locally, Allianz Partners New Zealand said the leadership change would strengthen the group’s global services.
“I’m excited for Okan’s new global leadership role,” said Kevin Blyth, managing director of Allianz Partners NZ. “While health isn’t yet part of our local market in New Zealand, his expertise will strengthen Allianz Partners’ global offerings. Ida’s support and expertise, particularly with our New Zealand student business, was invaluable.”
