A graduate of the Ryerson journalism program, I have primarily worked in daily newspapers for more than 14 years, as a reporter, copy editor/paginator, and editor in Cobourg, Ont. I moved on to magazines to be editor of Electricity Today, and launched Electrical Source during my seven years with Electricity Forum in Pickering, Ont.
Born and raised in a farm in Orillia, Ont. (sorry, no log cabin). Great training for a blossoming journalist, as cleaning up after the farm animals provided a keen insight to what is truth and what… isn’t.
The only field of endeavour that I considered aside from journalism was teaching piano – as I came with a year of completing my Royal Conservatory training. It was a choice of entering Ryerson or finishing off my piano. As the dust gathering on my piano at home will attest, I chose wisely.
