CSIO has launched a Standards Certification Rating Program to recognize the achievements of insurers and BMS vendors in adopting CSIO Data Standards.
The Standards Certification Ratings reflect an organization’s commitment to comprehensive Data Standards that meet business needs, the CSIO said.
Developed by the organization’s Standards Governance Advisory Council, the rating criteria are designed to evaluate an organization’s progress in advancing Data Standards through the achievement of CSIO Certifications. These include eDocs, Commercial Lines Data Standards, Compliance, API Security Standards, and the current version of CSIO’s EDI and XML Standards.
Under the new program, insurers will receive separate ratings for personal and commercial lines, while BMS vendors are assigned one overall rating. Organizations that successfully implement CSIO Standards and meet all criteria are eligible for the highest rating, platinum.
CSIO has announced the following platinum insurers: Wawanesa Insurance for both personal and commercial lines, Definity Financial Corporation for personal lines, Gore Mutual Insurance Company for personal lines, and Northbridge Insurance for commercial lines.
“We’re proud to be the first insurer to receive the highest CSIO Standards Certification Rating for both Personal and Commercial Lines,” said Glenn Hemming, vice president and chief information officer at Wawanesa.
“This achievement reinforces our commitment to shaping industry technology standards and demonstrates our efforts to help make brokers’ lives easier. We strive to be an insurance and technology leader to meet the evolving needs of those we serve.”
In addition to the platinum rating, insurers and BMS vendors who are actively using or implementing CSIO Standards can achieve the following additional Ratings: gold, awarded to organizations that have implemented the majority of CSIO Standards; silver, awarded to organizations that have made significant progress in adopting CSIO Standards; and bronze, awarded to organizations in the early stages of implementing CSIO Standards. Organizations that make progress in programming CSIO Standards can improve their certification rating.
“CSIO published the Certification Ratings to acknowledge our members’ dedication to advancing connectivity in the broker channel through Data Standards,” said Kathryn Sinclair, interim president at CSIO. “This initiative highlights the value of Standards excellence and further enhances data exchange in the P&C industry.”
