BrokerLink has acquired three brokerages – Avergate Insurance Inc and Keyes Insurance Brokers in Ontario and CDM Insurance Brokers Ltd in Alberta – as part of its national expansion strategy.
The transactions were finalized in May and June 2025, continuing the company’s active pursuit of growth across Canada.
Avergate Insurance operates out of Markham and North York and offers insurance services tailored to high-net-worth individuals and businesses. Its portfolio includes specialised coverage such as cyber and construction insurance. The brokerage also participates in regional fundraising initiatives.
Keyes Insurance, located in Gananoque and in operation since 1926, provides a mix of commercial and personal insurance products. The family-run firm has maintained long-standing community involvement alongside its client-focused insurance solutions.
In Calgary, CDM Insurance brings two decades of experience in personal lines, including home and auto coverage. The company has emphasized customer support and team cohesion as part of its operational model.
The acquired firms will maintain their existing teams and integrate under the BrokerLink brand.
BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio said the acquisitions allow the company to deepen its service delivery in key markets. “With these three acquisitions, we’re strengthening our presence in two provinces where we have deep roots, allowing us to serve more customers with insurance solutions while reinforcing our commitment to supporting Canadian communities,” he said. “This growth enables us to expand our expertise, enhance our offerings, and build even stronger connections with the people and businesses we serve.”
The three latest additions follow another round of acquisitions completed earlier this year.
On March 1, BrokerLink closed deals to purchase Bankers and Traders Insurance in Edmonton, Aspen Insurance Brokers Ltd in Calgary, and SeaLand Insurance Corporation in St. John’s.
Bankers and Traders Insurance, a three-generation brokerage with 25 years of experience, provides high-net-worth personal insurance solutions in Alberta’s capital.
Aspen Insurance, in operation for over a decade, offers personal and commercial insurance throughout the Calgary area.
SeaLand Insurance, established in 2012, enhances BrokerLink’s marine insurance capabilities with a focus on commercial fishing vessels and general business risks.
Earlier in February, BrokerLink completed its entry into the British Columbia market by acquiring Schill Insurance, a firm with 11 offices across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.
Schill brings a 50-year history in both personal and commercial lines, including expertise in the construction and real estate sectors.
These moves follow previous expansions into Manitoba and Saskatchewan in 2024 and mark the continued execution of BrokerLink’s national strategy.
