BrokerLink has expanded its presence in Canada with the acquisition of four brokerages across Ontario and Alberta.
In Ontario, the company completed the purchase of Insure Exact Insurance Brokers in July and ThinkInsure this month. In Alberta, BrokerLink acquired First Fruits Insurance Services, operating as BrokerTeam Insurance, in August, and Costen Insurance earlier this month.
BrokerLink said that each acquisition brings new capabilities and local expertise to the company’s national platform. As part of the deals, employees from the acquired brokerages will remain with the organisation.
ThinkInsure, based in Toronto, has operated for more than 15 years, offering personal and business insurance to clients in Ontario and Alberta. The brokerage is known for its digital approach, providing online quotes and a dedicated contact centre to support customers in finding coverage.
Insure Exact Insurance, founded in 2008, is a family-run business in Mississauga. The firm has built its operations around long-term relationships and personalised service, focusing on practical solutions for complex insurance needs.
First Fruits Insurance Services, which trades as BrokerTeam Insurance, has served the Calgary area since 2014. The team provides guidance in multiple languages, including Mandarin and Cantonese, and focuses on building relationships within the local community.
Costen Insurance, also based in Calgary, has been in operation since 1987. The firm offers advice and customised policies, aiming to make insurance straightforward for its clients.
December last year also saw BrokerLink completing four additional acquisitions in Ontario and Alberta, including Ontario Wide Insurance Solutions, Donnell Financial Services, Shuman Insurance, and Assurances Robichaud Insurance.
The company’s acquisition strategy has resulted in a network of over 230 locations across Canada, with a workforce of 3,400 employees.
BrokerLink’s latest deals are part of a broader national expansion. The company said that it is on track to become a $5 billion brokerage by the end of 2025, following significant moves into new provinces such as British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio (pictured above) commented on the acquisitions, saying, “We continue to build our network across the country, aligning with brokerages that share similar values, along with a dedication to employees, community and innovation.”
He highlighted that customer demand shapes the company’s strategy, and as BrokerLink enhances its digital offering, its commitment to local communities remains unchanged.
D’Annunzio has previously cited scale, digital innovation, and talent investment as key factors in BrokerLink’s strategy. The recent acquisition of Schill Insurance Brokers, a British Columbia-based firm with expertise in ICBC and earthquake insurance, has further strengthened BrokerLink’s presence in western Canada.
