Alan has officially launched in Quebec, expanding its footprint in Canada as a licensed insurance carrier and stepping deeper into the province’s employee benefits market.

The company said its Quebec offering is designed around a French‑first digital experience for employers and their teams, including French‑language onboarding and member support. From an administration standpoint, Alan said it is centralizing plan management in a single digital platform to reduce the operational burden on employers. On the member side, the company highlighted digital claims submissions and reimbursement details intended to make it easier for employees to understand what is covered and how claims are paid.

Odile Kusnik, head of insurance at Alan Canada, said the Quebec launch required more than localiation. “Launching Alan in Quebec required building our insurance offering specifically for the province,” she said. “We didn’t just translate our product. We built a Quebec-first health insurance solution from the ground up, working with local partners to navigate the specific needs and regulations of the province’s healthcare system. This means our members get a product that is fully compliant and tailored to their community from day one.”

Alan described itself as bringing a preventative approach to health and positioning insurance as part of broader employee wellbeing and productivity strategies. The Quebec launch, the company said, builds on its status as a licensed insurer in Canada and extends its model into a highly regulated provincial environment.

Mark Goad, general manager at Alan Canada, said the company sees the Quebec launch as an early step in broader expansion. “We are thrilled to bring Alan’s digital-first approach to health benefits to Quebec,” he said. “This is the first of many important steps in our journey to offer Canadian employers and their teams a much-needed alternative in a market that has seen little change in decades.” Goad added that the new offering is intended to reflect “the realities of the Quebec market,” while giving employees clearer access to their benefits “in a way that is easier to understand and use.”

The company said it is already supporting Canadian employers, including organizations with up to 500 employees, and that the Quebec expansion positions it for continued growth in Canada.

Founded in 2016, Alan said it provides a one‑stop platform combining health insurance with telemedicine and proactive care, supported by a digital-first model and “fair pricing.”
