Insurance Business Canada (IBC) has released its 2026 Elite Women list, recognising 73 female leaders whose work spans catastrophe recovery, business continuity, and household financial protection across the Canadian insurance sector. The cohort represents senior professionals from carriers, brokerages, associations, MGAs, and related organizations whose decisions and initiatives shape outcomes for clients and the broader risk-transfer ecosystem.

Selection process focuses on recent impact

For the fifth annual Elite Women list, IBC invited insurance professionals across Canada to nominate female leaders they viewed as having made a significant contribution to the industry over the past 12 months. Nominators were asked to provide details of each nominee’s:

  • Key professional achievements in the last year
  • Industry or community initiatives they led or supported
  • Specific examples of how their work advanced clients’ interests, organisational goals, or sector-wide priorities

Self-nominations and nominations of relatives were not permitted in order to reduce potential conflicts of interest.

Independent judging panel evaluates nominations

An independent panel of industry figures joined the IBC editorial team in reviewing the submissions. The judges assessed how each nominee had made a meaningful impact on the sector based on the evidence provided. The judging panel comprised:

  • Denise Hall, Aon
  • Ingrid Wilson, Canadian Association of Black Insurance Professionals
  • Jaimie Staub, Canadian Association of Insurance Women
  • Pamela Derksen, NFP
  • Traci Boland, Insurance Brokers Association of Canada
  • Vinita Jajware-Beatty, Toronto Insurance Women’s Association

Following the evaluation process, the panel and IBC staff narrowed the nominations to a final list of 73 Elite Women for 2026.

Recognised leaders span carriers, brokerages and service providers

The 2026 Elite Women list includes leaders from across the value chain, including national and regional carriers, brokerage networks, financial services firms, health and benefits organisations, and specialist service providers. Among those recognised this year are:
