Western Financial Group has been named a recipient of the 2025 Canadian Business Excellence Award for Private Businesses, a national recognition presented by Excellence Canada.
The award highlights organizations that demonstrate consistent achievement in customer experience, employee engagement, and innovation. Western was selected for expanding its reach and modernizing its services while maintaining a strong local presence.
“This award is a reflection of the incredible work our team does every day to support our customers and communities,” said Grant Ostir, CEO of Western Financial Group. “It’s also a powerful endorsement of our new strategic direction, which aims to double our customer base over the next five years by delivering even more value, convenience, and care.”
Under Ostir’s leadership, Western Financial Group has launched a growth strategy focused on digital transformation, operational improvements, and stronger customer relationships. The company was previously recognized by Constellation Research as one of its AX100 global leaders in customer experience and was also listed among The CIO Times’ Business Pioneers for 2025.
In addition to its commercial activities, Western has emphasized community involvement through its Western Communities Foundation. Since its establishment in 2001, the foundation has distributed over $9 million to local initiatives across Canada. These contributions have supported community infrastructure, student scholarships, and charitable programs.

The 2025 Canadian Business Excellence Award will be officially presented at a reception on September 23, 2025, at the Eglinton Grand in Toronto.
