Sedgwick has announced several senior appointments in its Canadian operations as part of the ongoing expansion of its major & complex loss (MCL) division and broader claims management services.
Carl Beaudoin (pictured above) has been appointed executive general adjuster, based in Halifax. With over 20 years of experience, Beaudoin specializes in complex claims, including course of construction, environmental, wrap-up liability and professional liability. His experience includes catastrophe response work across Canada and internationally.
“What drew me to this team is their willingness to tackle uncertainty head on and address the challenges and complexities within the claims space,” said Beaudoin. “I’m excited to contribute my experience, both here in Halifax and across the globe, to support Sedgwick’s talented team in delivering strong results and exceptional client service across a wide range of claims.”
Lee Powell, vice president of major and complex loss at Sedgwick Canada, said Beaudoin has “an unparalleled ability to bring calm to chaos” and will be able to offer deep insight while solving problems.
“That’s the kind of leadership our clients count on, and we’re excited to have him on the team,” Powell said.
Beaudoin’s appointment followed the appointment of Stewart Kirkpatrick, who joined the company as executive general adjuster last month. Kirkpatrick has expertise in several areas, including commercial property, contractor’s liability, cash-in-transit and appraisal. Kirkpatrick’s career spans industries such as construction, energy, finance, agriculture, and media.
The company also recently announced the appointments of Robert Lepine and Melanie Mercier. Lepine has been named regional vice president for Quebec and Atlantic Canada, and Mercier has been appointed manager in Quebec. Lepine brings over 30 years of experience in insurance and adjusting, while Mercier offers more than 20 years of expertise in claims adjustment and auditing, with a focus on training and quality assurance.
Sedgwick also previously announced the appointment of Kumar Siva as COO for its Canadian operations. Siva had served as senior vice president for third-party administration services and desktop solutions at Sedgwick since 2023.
The series of appointments comes as Sedgwick continues to strengthen its capacity to respond to increasingly complex claims and growing catastrophe risks. The firm operates in over 80 countries and provides services in claims administration, loss adjusting, and technology-enabled solutions for clients across multiple sectors.
