Two major insurance firms are reinforcing their leadership in Western Canada with new senior appointments aimed at supporting growth and enhancing service delivery.
Sedgwick has appointed Dana Sharp (pictured above, left) as a senior general adjuster, joining its Major Complex Loss (MCL) team in Calgary.
With more than a decade of experience, Sharp is known for her work in condominium corporation and residential property claims, as well as managing large-scale catastrophe losses.
Her previous assignments include claims involving water, hail, fire, and wind damage affecting multi-unit properties. She brings to Sedgwick a track record of handling complex, high-impact events with a focus on client service.
“Dana will be an important addition to our team,” said Devin Shillington, vice president at Sedgwick Canada. “Her experience and dedication to quality will be a tremendous asset as we continue to support our clients with responsiveness and expertise across Western Canada.”
Sharp said her background in property and catastrophe claims adjusting will help bring stability and insight to complex files. “I’m ready to contribute to the team’s ongoing success and to support the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients,” she said.
Westland Insurance has named Sarah Cameron (pictured above, right) as vice president, Commercial Lines for British Columbia, effective July 21, 2025.
Cameron has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, with a focus on strategic planning, business transformation, and operational leadership.
She has held senior roles in both public and private insurance environments and has worked closely with industry associations, carriers, and regulators.
“Sarah is a perfect addition to Westland’s BC Commercial Lines practice,” said Don Thompson, chief operating officer at Westland Insurance. “She brings extensive experience in leading large commercial broker teams across Western Canada and spearheading successful transformation efforts.”
Cameron said she looks forward to contributing to Westland’s growth strategy by building effective teams and improving service delivery. “In this role, I aim to accelerate growth in commercial lines by building connected, high-performing teams and implementing strategies that enhance client outcomes,” she said.
Her appointment aligns with Westland’s broader goal of expanding its commercial insurance capabilities nationwide and deepening partnerships with insurers.
