A new independent brokerage has entered Manitoba's insurance market with the launch of Galaxy Insurance Brokers, a full-service firm founded by three experienced professionals aiming to deliver personalized, community-first coverage across the province.
Galaxy Insurance Brokers offers a broad range of commercial and personal insurance solutions tailored to individuals, families and businesses. The firm is led by Jitender Sardana, president and managing partners; Palvinder Dhaliwal, vice president of commercial lines and partner, and Surinderjit Bhroat, vice president of personal lines and partner.
All three leaders previously built their careers at Coughlin Insurance Brokers, where they developed deep relationships within Manitoba's growing South Asian community.
The creation of Galaxy Insurance follows a broader trend of independent brokerages emerging across Canada as professionals seek to establish locally led firms with flexible service models and stronger community ties. This approach has proven increasingly relevant in Manitoba, where clients often prefer in-person, relationship-based service backed by broad product access.
“Galaxy was built to ensure that our clients feel seen, supported, and protected—whether they’re running a business, growing a family, or building their future in Manitoba," said Sardana.
As part of the transition, several long-time clients previously served by the trio at Coughlin Insurance will now more under the Galaxy Insurance Brokers banner. Two Winnipeg-area offices, located at 16–2188 McPhillips Street and 2–11 Vervain Drive, Centreport, will also operate under the new name, ensuring continuity for customers.
Matthew Coughlin, president of Coughlin Insurance Brokers, expressed support for the move, saying the transition ensures clients continue to receive the same level of service while working with a brokerage that reflects their communities.
Galaxy Insurance Brokers opens with a team of more than 20 professionals and plans to expand its presence across Manitoba as client needs evolve. Its launch comes at a time of steady growth in the province’s insurance sector, where demand for localized expertise and culturally responsive advisory services continues to rise amid shifting demographics and a tightening property and casualty market.
