Collectivfide Insurance Group has appointed industry consultant and Gradient Solutions co-founder Sean Mulcair (pictured) as chief operating officer.

As founder and managing partner of Gradient Solutions, Mulcair has been consulting with brokers for more than 20 years. His work has centered on operational performance, strategic planning, growth enablement and leadership development for many of Canada’s top insurance brokers, carriers and software providers.

Mulcair brings deep experience in process optimization and “Lean Insurance” methodologies, having helped brokerages streamline workflows, modernize their use of technology and improve sales effectiveness through Gradient’s training and consulting programs.

'COO for hire'

In recent years, Mulcair has focused on the role of “COO for hire,” partnering with brokerages to lead full sales and operations transformations.

He previously worked with a brokerage to drive organic growth while overseeing multiple M&As in both the P&C and financial services sectors.

With Mulcair now stepping into the COO role, Colletivfide aims to add broker partners across Canada.

Natural next step after 2025 collaboration

Commenting on his move to Collectivfide, Mulcair said that joining the company felt like the "natural next step" in his career.

"Their shared-services model is a unique differentiator, built to help broker partners scale smarter, but what really won me over was the people, grounded values, true collaboration and a culture I'm proud to be part of," he added.

Collectivfide operates a partnership-driven model that gives locally owned brokerages access to centralized resources, including underwriting, operations and data anlytics. The group, founded in 2019 by mutual insurers, is focused on protecting the independent broker distribution channel and supporting succession for community-based firms.

"Sean brings a rare combination of strategic insight, operational expertise and people-first leadership," said Tony Ngo, president and CEO of Collectivfide. "His experience, insight, and collaborative approach will be instrumental as we continue to scale, support our partners, and build an organization where people can do their best work"
