Aviva has introduced its new Global Risk Management Solutions (GRMS) proposition, bringing together 230 risk consultants from the UK, Ireland, and Canada, along with a network of international third-party partners.

Aviva says the initiative aims to unify its risk management practice under a single framework, reflecting the needs of commercial clients and brokers who require integrated and cross-border risk management support.

The launch of GRMS represents the next phase for Aviva Risk Management Solutions (ARMS) in each market. The unified model is intended to help commercial lines customers manage risk across international markets, providing access to technical expertise and local insight.

Leadership of the new global risk management team includes Chris Andrews (pictured above) as director of risk management solutions for the UK, Pat Lee as risk management solutions & engineering services leader for Ireland, and John Billis as vice president and head of Aviva Risk Management Solutions in Canada.

“At Aviva, we’re setting the standard for a resilient tomorrow,” Andrews said. “By bringing together our global risk management teams and trusted international partners under one integrated practice, we’re unlocking a powerful capability – combining local expertise with internationally recognised loss prevention standards to deliver consistent, innovative and tailored risk solutions.”

ARMS UK & Ireland will focus on prevention solutions across the UK and Europe, while ARMS Canada will lead service delivery solutions in North America. In other regions, Aviva will rely on its in-house expertise or work with third-party partners, now integrated into Aviva’s internal risk management platforms.

To further support its global strategy, Aviva has created its first globally focused role. Abigail Gainsford, prevention solutions consultant for UK Centres of Excellence, will expand her responsibilities to collaborate with teams in Canada and Ireland, aiming to develop a unified global digital capability.

The GRMS proposition also introduces the Global Technical Specialist Network, a group of experts covering areas such as hazards, occupancy, and technology exposures.
