Acera Insurance and Navacord have entered a multi-year partnership with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, becoming the club's official insurance broker and employee benefits consulting partner through the 2027-28 season.

The agreement comes as the two Canadian brokerages move ahead with a transformational merger that aims to create the country’s largest privately held insurance brokerage, employee benefits, and wealth advisory firm, with a combined $7.2 billion in insurance and employee benefits premium and more than 5,000 professionals across 150 locations.

“We’re in the business of protecting people and possibilities, a promise we extend beyond every policy. So, we’re proud to team up with the Vancouver Whitecaps to champion what matters: uniting people and enhancing community,” said Lee Rogers, CEO, Acera Insurance and vice chairman, Navacord. “Go ’Caps! We look forward to celebrating every moment with our fellow fans this season and beyond.”

Acera Insurance and Navacord said they look forward to supporting the club while continuing to grow as a Canadian partner with national reach. Together, they represent more than 5,000 professionals in over 150 offices, combining local expertise with broader scale for clients in British Columbia and across Canada.

“We are very pleased to welcome Acera Insurance and Navacord as our Official Insurance Broker and Employee Benefits Consulting Partner,” said Aditi Bhatt, Whitecaps FC chief commercial officer. “This partnership represents another great opportunity to connect with a Canadian-grown brand with strong local roots. We look forward to engaging our community together.”

As part of the partnership, Acera Insurance and Navacord will host a “Train Like a Pro” experience at the Whitecaps’ National Soccer Development Centre (NSDC) and sponsor a Canadian-focused content series.

Background on the broker partners

Acera Insurance was formed in 2022 through the merger of CapriCMW and Rogers Insurance, creating one of Canada’s largest independent, employee-controlled brokerages. The firm positions itself as a 100% Canadian-owned brokerage with more than 1,300 employees and over 50 offices nationwide, and has remained active on the M&A front as it builds a national independent platform.

Navacord has grown into one of Canada’s largest commercial insurance brokerages through a partner-driven model and has been consolidating its regional brands under the Navacord name to strengthen its national profile. The December 2025 announcement of its merger with Acera is expected to create a combined entity with $7.2 billion in insurance and benefits premium and $7.5 billion in retirement assets under management, focused on commercial P&C, benefits, and wealth advisory.

The Whitecaps deal underscores how the merged group is using high-visibility sports partnerships to build recognition of a new national brand as it integrates legacy businesses and expands its benefits and advisory capabilities.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC has been expanding its commercial partner roster with sector-specific “official” partners, including law, telecom, storage, and now insurance and benefits. The Acera/Navacord agreement runs through the 2027–28 season and aligns with broader efforts to leverage soccer’s profile ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America and with local initiatives to invest in community soccer infrastructure across British Columbia.

Regionally, British Columbia remains a competitive broker market, with independent players and consolidators active across the province.

Against that backdrop, a high-profile partnership with Vancouver’s MLS club signals the combined group’s intent to operate as a unified national brand rather than a loose collection of regional firms, and to compete directly with global brokers for middle-market and larger accounts.
