As we edge closer towards 2026, there’s one question playing on the minds of sales professionals - is it time to consider a new career opportunity?

According to a recent survey from Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, 81% of sales professionals would consider switching industries if a new role offered better compensation.

In that same vein, Allstate Canada is looking to attract strong, value-led and ambitious new hires for a number of sales opportunities across Ontario and Quebec.

“Allstate Canada offers a strong corporate culture and our employees are our greatest asset, coming from diverse backgrounds and bringing a wealth of perspectives to their roles,” Odel Laing, Territory Business Leader at Allstate Canada, told IB.

Clear career priorities

Survey results show ambition is high among respondents, with key career goals over the next 12 months including increasing earnings (40%), advancing into senior roles (12%), and gaining new skills or certifications (10%).

“At its core, the results of the study align with our approach to creating an environment for employees within our sales channel to build a rewarding career,” said Laing. “The ideal candidate excels at building customer relationships, thrives on human connection and will know how to identify opportunities at the right time and turn them into successful outcomes.”

Financial rewards, employee support groups, philanthropic efforts

The data shows that while most are satisfied in their current roles, sales professionals are highly motivated by opportunities for better compensation and career advancement.

“These insights suggest that organizations offering competitive pay, strong benefits, and clear growth paths are best positioned to attract top talent, an approach reflected in Allstate Canada’s own model,” added Laing.

In line with this, Allstate fosters a supportive, empowering workplace that is built on diversity, engagement and community impact.

Professional development and well-being are also central to Allstate’s values, with employees benefiting from flexible work arrangements, wellness programs, and opportunities for growth through training and mentorship.

“Allstate supports new insurance sales professionals with structured onboarding that includes hands-on training, mentorship programs, and access to ongoing learning resources. The company provides clear performance goals, regular feedback, and tailored development plans, helping new hires build confidence and quickly adapt to industry practices,” said Laing.

For those considering a career in insurance sales, the transition can feel significant but also highly rewarding with a clear path for long-term growth. Laing and his team aim to make that shift as smooth and supportive as possible.
