Reports of cyber incidents in Australia reached a new peak in the latter half of 2024, according to data from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) with a total of 1,113 breaches recorded, representing a 25% increase from 893 in 2023. That has made cyber insurance more important than ever – and thankfully, several providers are stepping up to the challenge.

Insurance Business Australia (IB) conducted a 15-week assessment to determine the country’s leading cyber insurers for 2025.
The study included interviews with specialist brokers and surveys of thousands of insurance professionals within IB’s network.
Brokers were asked to rank which policy features they considered most critical and to evaluate insurers based on those criteria.
Providers were assessed on the comprehensiveness of coverage, policy flexibility, claims handling, pricing, and overall product quality.
Emergence Insurance was among the insurers identified in the report.
The agency operates across Australia and New Zealand and focuses on helping businesses and households manage cyber and digital risks.
It was noted for providing solutions aimed at addressing the evolving threats in the digital landscape.
