Specialist insurer CFC has appointed Christyn Yoast (pictured) as global head of commercial, as the business looks to drive its commercial strategy across a growing global footprint.

Yoast is expected to start in January 2026 and will be based in New York.

Commercial leadership hire lands amid expansion push

The appointment comes as CFC continues what has been described as a period of “significant international expansion”, including new offices and product launches.

In a recent interview, CEO Louise O’Shea said CFC’s expansion has been supported by a US$1.7 billion debt refinancing, aimed at reducing the company’s cost of capital. She also noted that CFC operates in 90 countries, with “nearly half” of its business originating in the US.

CFC describes itself as “a specialist insurance provider, pioneer in emerging risk and market leader in cyber.”  The company is headquartered in London with offices including New York, San Francisco, Austin, Brussels and Brisbane, and has over 900 employees.

Yoast brings cyber and digital distribution experience

Yoast joins CFC from BOXX Insurance, where she served as US President. BOXX has been in transition since Zurich Insurance Group announced in July 2025 that it had successfully acquired the cyber insurance and risk-management insurtech to provide retail and SME cyber insurance and services globally.

The MGA framed Yoast’s move as part of broader “cyber talent realignment” and a busy start to the year for senior leadership changes in the cyber insurance market.

O'Shea said Yoast brings "extensive experience in cultivating strategic partnerships and driving business growth."

Commenting on her new role, Yoast said she was excited to work closely with the global team to further align commercial strategy and accelerate sustainable growth.

Yoast’s appointment follows other senior hires at CFC as the firm builds out leadership capacity. Nick Line was recently appointed as the company's chief underwriting officer, succeeding Matt Taylor, who held the role on an interim basis since February 2025.
