Planned Cover, an Australian insurance brokerage that provides risk and insurance solutions to professionals and businesses, has announced the appointment of Max Shetty as manager broking VIC.
Shetty will oversee the Victorian broking team, with responsibilities that include managing client relationships, allocating accounts, supporting revenue targets, and pursuing new business opportunities in line with the company’s strategic direction.
Shetty’s career in the insurance industry spans over two decades, with experience in broking, underwriting, and management. He is a senior associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and has held leadership positions at IAG, A J Gallagher, and Austbrokers Countrywide.
His expertise covers a range of financial lines, including professional indemnity, management liability, directors and officers, cyber, and IT liability insurance. He also has a background in both personal and commercial general insurance.
Planned Cover stated that Shetty’s appointment is intended to reinforce the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive insurance solutions for clients in Victoria. The company noted that Shetty’s industry knowledge and established relationships are expected to support the delivery of competitive coverage and effective risk management for clients.
In a separate move, Planned Cover has named Anthony Kearns as client experience and business development manager for New South Wales.
Kearns, who joined the firm last month, is responsible for leading the NSW broking team and advancing the company’s business development and client service initiatives in the state.
Kearns brings more than 30 years of multidisciplinary experience, including roles in law, risk management, organisational development, and executive leadership. He holds honours degrees in both law and science, a Master of Applied Positive Psychology, and has undertaken studies at Stanford’s Design School.
Alongside his executive roles, Kearns has worked as an educator, executive coach, and mindfulness teacher, with a focus on leadership and team performance. He has also developed a consulting practice supporting general counsel and in-house legal teams at major organisations.
Planned Cover indicated that Kearns’s diverse background will help strengthen its broking and client service capabilities in New South Wales. The company expects his experience in consulting and leadership development to be an asset as it seeks to enhance its offerings and support client outcomes.
Planned Cover, part of the Planned Cover group, delivers insurance broking and risk management services to a range of professional and business clients across Australia. The company’s recent appointments are part of a strategy to invest in experienced leaders and support ongoing growth in key markets.
The addition of Shetty and Kearns to the leadership team reflects Planned Cover’s focus on expanding its expertise and maintaining service standards for clients in the insurance sector. The company has stated its intention to continue building its team to address the evolving needs of professionals and businesses in Australia.
