The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has introduced a new website as part of changes to its online services for insurance brokers in Australia. The association states that the website is intended to increase access to its services and facilitate communication among members.

Website update and member feedback

According to NIBA, the website was developed following input from members and is aligned with the association’s focus on advocacy, representation, and community. The new platform replaces the previous website and includes changes to navigation, access to resources, and member login processes.

The new website includes changes to navigation, access to educational materials and industry events, and the member login process. The site also provides updated information on NIBA’s policy activities and advocacy work. NIBA president Nick Cook said: “This journey is about building on those four decades of leadership, to ensure that NIBA remains a forward-thinking brand and voice.”

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin commented: “Embracing innovation is a must to be relevant and impactful. Through its evolution, NIBA has shown it is ready to lead the profession through the challenges that lie ahead. Our new website and member experience are the digital front door to the future: clearer to navigate, more engaging, and built around brokersʼ needs.”

The association stated that the new website will be used to introduce changes to member communications and services, including options such as audio versions of selected magazine articles. NIBA said the platform may be updated further in the future to include additional features.

Rebranding highlights NIBA’s history and future initiatives

The website launch comes after NIBA’s rebranding, which was announced in August. NIBA’s rebranding video highlighted events in the association’s history, including its involvement following the Ash Wednesday bushfires in 1983 and the Black Summer fires in 2019. The association has participated in recovery activities after natural disasters and has made submissions to government inquiries such as the Hayne Royal Commission and the Quality of Advice Review. In 2023, NIBA introduced the Insure Your Future initiative, which connects brokerages with potential job candidates.

Cook said that changes in technology, demographics, and regulation require representation for brokers. “The transformation we are witnessing, from technological advancements and generational change, through to regulatory changes, demands strong, cohesive representation to ensure that brokers’ interests are safeguarded,” he said.

Klipin said that the association is focused on adapting to changes in risk and consumer expectations. “With an evolving risk landscape, changing consumer expectations and global headwinds, we must embrace innovation to remain relevant and impactful, amplifying the ‘one voiceʼ of brokers today and facing the challenges as we head into the future,” he said.
