Australia’s insurance brokers will gather this July as the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) launches its 2025 Gala Lunch Series—this year introducing charity partnerships in each host city alongside the annual industry awards.
The series is expected to draw over 2,500 attendees, offering brokers a chance to regroup after the financial year and exchange insights amid changing market conditions and client needs. NIBA President Nick Cook said the events provide a practical forum for connection across Australia’s diverse broking landscape.
“NIBA plays a key role in building bridges across geographical boundaries by creating inclusive platforms where brokers can connect, share insights, and support each other,” Cook said.
One of the focal points of the series is the recognition of excellence in insurance broking. Each lunch will feature the announcement of state winners for two major industry awards: the Vero Young Broker of the Year and the CGU Broker of the Year. Finalists will go on to compete for the national titles, which will be awarded at the 2025 NIBA Convention on the Gold Coast in October.
Beyond industry recognition, this year’s series also includes a philanthropic component. For the first time, NIBA has partnered with local charities in each state to channel support toward broader community initiatives.
“This is a unique opportunity to give back to the communities that support us. Aligning the NIBA Gala Lunches with a local charity extends broking values of care and service to the broader community,” NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said.
The 2025 Gala Lunch Series begins on July 9 at The Fullerton Hotel in Sydney, followed by events in Perth (July 11), Melbourne (July 18), Brisbane (July 23), and Adelaide (July 25).
