Citi, Lockton, and Colin Biggers & Paisley have announced senior appointments in Australia and New Zealand, with the hires spanning healthcare investment banking, insurance strategy, and insurance law.

Citi names head of healthcare

At Citi, former Goldman Sachs executive Ben Bartholomaeus has been appointed head of healthcare for Australia and New Zealand within the bank’s capital markets and advisory division.

The role involves supporting healthcare clients across Australasia, with Citi pointing to its global platform and sector capabilities. Based in Sydney, he will report to Philippe Perzi and Ben Connolly, co-heads of capital markets and advisory for Australia and New Zealand, as well as Ling Zhang, head of healthcare for Asia Pacific.

Bartholomaeus joined from Goldman Sachs, where he led healthcare within the corporate advisory business for Australia and New Zealand.

Lockton boosts leadership

Lockton has expanded its Pacific leadership team with the appointments of Glenn Preece as Pacific growth leader and Sare Ozkara as head of market strategy, engagement, and portfolio solutions.

Preece oversees growth initiatives across the Pacific business, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in insurance, risk management, and strategic advisory. His background includes roles in London, Singapore, and Sydney, as well as senior positions at Marsh. He joined Lockton Pacific in late 2025.

“Glenn’s experience across global markets and his strategic understanding of complex risk make him an exceptional fit for Lockton. Glenn will play a pivotal role in shaping our growth agenda in the Pacific, and I’m delighted to have him on the leadership team,” Lockton Pacific CEO Marcus Pearson said.

Meanwhile, Ozkara has more than 15 years of experience in insurance distribution, including leadership roles at Vero and Asteron Life. Reporting to Preece, she will focus on insurer partnerships, portfolio solutions, and market intelligence.

“Lockton has built an outstanding reputation for expertise and deep client relationships. I’m looking forward to working with our insurer partners to create solutions that support growth for both our clients and the broader Pacific business,” Ozkara said.

Colin Biggers & Paisley adds to Brisbane office

Colin Biggers & Paisley has appointed Jennifer Robbins to its Brisbane office along with a team of lawyers, as demand continues for advice on financial lines and complex coverage matters.

Robbins has more than 15 years’ experience in commercial litigation and insurance coverage, including work involving financial institutions, directors and officers liability, and professional indemnity. The firm said her appointment aligns with its ongoing focus on expanding its national insurance capabilities, following the addition of Patrick Boardman and his team in late 2024.

“The strength and growth of our insurance practice has been built deliberately over time, grounded in deep sector expertise and long-standing client relationships. Expanding our national insurance capability through senior and strategic hires is a natural step for the practice, ensuring we are well positioned to support clients as the insurance landscape continues to mature and evolve,” CBP managing partner Andrew Murray said.

Robbins joins special counsel Mitchell Jensen, senior associate Tommy Evans, and solicitor Matthew Ellish.
