Commercial property insurer FM has appointed Robin Benoit as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, effective June 1, 2025.

In this role, Benoit will oversee the company’s human resources operations, including talent strategy, total rewards, HR business partners, HR operations and employee communications.

Benoit most recently served as chief people officer at Acrisure, a global fintech firm providing business and insurance services. Before that, she was chief human resources officer at Alternate Solutions Health Network. She has also operated her own consultancy and held various global HR leadership positions at State Street Corporation.

“With Robin’s extensive experience and strong track record of leading complex, global organizations, I am confident she will be a significant asset for FM and our colleagues around the world,” said Malcolm Roberts, chairman and chief executive officer of FM.

Benoit will succeed Deanna Fidler, executive vice president at FM, who will retire on December 31, 2025. She will also assume the responsibility of Sonserae Toles, staff senior vice president of culture and employee experience, who will retire on June 30, 2025.

FM is a mutual insurance company headquartered in Johnston, Rhode Island. Founded in 1835, the company provides commercial property insurance and loss prevention services for businesses operating globally. It employs more than 5,500 people and maintains operations in over 100 countries.

The company uses an engineering-based approach to risk assessment, with an emphasis on preventing or minimizing property loss through science-backed strategies. The company operates a research campus in West Glocester, Rhode Island, where it conducts testing related to fire, explosion, and natural hazard risks.

In recent news, FM announced an expansion of its membership credit programme, offering US$1 billion in total credits to eligible mutual policyholders. The change allows members to receive credits earlier than in previous years.

FM also plans to open a new Science and Technology Center in Luxembourg by 2027. The facility is intended to support innovation and advance risk management capabilities in the EMEA region.
