BMS Group (BMS), the global specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced its acquisition of Queensland based Corporate and Commercial Insurance Brokers.
A media release said the Queensland firm provides risk management advice and insurance broking services to large, privately owned organisations. The brokerage was founded by Jeremy Murfin in 2006. The release said Murfin will become a client director of BMS Australia.
“Jeremy has been a partner of BMS for over 20 years, so we are delighted he has now agreed to join forces with us,” said Andrew Godden (main picture), BMS Australia’s CEO. “With his depth of experience in the specialist property space and his exceptional risk management and advisory skills, he has built an exceptional business over the last two decades with clients up and down the east coast of Australia.”
The release said this acquisition adds to the global broker’s “recent international M&A activity.”
Early in 2025 the firm bought Spanish broker Rasher and in 2024 acquired UAE broker Berms Brett Masaood (now BMS Masaood).
Murfin said his brokerage was looking for a business that could provide additional resources “to cater for growth and specialisation in diversity.”
“The alignment with the culture, structure and resources within BMS and the decision to join them continuing and enhancing the client service delivery will deliver a better offering to clients moving forward,” he said.
