Arch Insurance Australia has named Melissa Corrigan (pictured) as its new business development manager, effective immediately, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen broker relationships and drive growth in key product lines.

Corrigan to lead broker engagement initiatives

In her new role, Corrigan will focus on enhancing Arch’s engagement with brokers across Australia and identifying opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the market. She will be based in Melbourne and report to Michael Faulkner, distribution and engagement lead.

Corrigan brings more than a decade of experience in business development and underwriting, most recently serving as business relationship manager at QBE Insurance.

Her responsibilities at Arch will include supporting broker partners and contributing to the company’s growth objectives.

Commenting on the appointment, Faulkner said Corrigan’s understanding of the market and dedication to broker success would play a key role in advancing Arch’s growth objectives and building broker relationships nationwide.

“We’re excited to welcome her to the team and look forward to the valuable contributions she will make,” he said.

Expansion of professional indemnity capabilities

The addition of Corrigan comes as Arch Insurance Australia continues to invest in its professional indemnity (PI) business.

The company recently appointed Jacqueline Kilday as senior PI underwriter for the Northern Region.

Kilday will be responsible for supporting the growth of Arch’s PI portfolio and servicing brokers in New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, and the Northern Territory. She will report to Chris Carreno, PI Northern Region manager.

Kilday has more than 10 years of experience in financial lines, including previous roles as head of professional and financial risks at 360 Underwriting Solutions and senior positions at QBE Insurance and Zurich Financial Services Australia.

Carreno said Kilday’s technical expertise and understanding of the local market will be important as Arch continues to expand its PI business.

“Her strong broker relationships and commitment to service delivery will further enhance Arch’s ability to deliver tailored solutions and strengthen broker partnerships,” Carreno said.

Developments in the southern region

Earlier in 2025, Arch Insurance Australia also appointed Carey Sturgiss as senior underwriter for the Southern Region, with a focus on PI risks in sectors such as construction, legal, architecture, engineering, and financial services.

Sturgiss, who is based in Melbourne, reports to Aisling Hegarty, Southern Region underwriting manager for professional indemnity.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in financial lines underwriting, including a previous role at Chubb Insurance.
