RAA has formalised a new sponsorship agreement with the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Netball SA, positioning itself as a major partner and the official travel partner of the team.
The deal will provide RAA members with access to discounted match tickets and exclusive event-based experiences starting in the 2025 Super Netball season.
Under the terms of the partnership, RAA members will receive a 10% discount on Gold and Silver general admission tickets for all Thunderbirds home games, subject to availability. Members will also benefit from curated game-day experiences and promotional offerings as part of the collaboration.
The Thunderbirds sponsorship joins a series of partnerships RAA holds with other professional teams across South Australia, including those in AFL, A-League soccer, and NBL basketball. This multi-code sponsorship approach is central to RAA’s member-focused engagement model.
RAA CEO Nick Reade (pictured left) said the Thunderbirds partnership enhances the organisation’s efforts to reach members through popular community-based channels.
“Supporting our local sports teams is incredibly important to us at RAA, because we know how much they mean to our members and the impact they have in our community,” he said. “Expanding from our partnerships in AFL, soccer and basketball, this new sponsorship will open up a range of benefits for SA’s netball lovers – as well as supporting another thriving female sports team.”
Reade added that the activation of sponsorship benefits will begin next season, with RAA brand presence already planned for upcoming fixtures.
“Stay tuned for more about the exciting benefits our collaboration with the Adelaide Thunderbirds will deliver for our members from next season,” he said.
Netball SA CEO Bronwyn Klei (pictured right) said the alignment with RAA reflects a mutual emphasis on member support and local engagement.
“Our members are at the heart of everything we do at the Thunderbirds and Netball SA, and we know this is a passion we share with RAA,” she said.
Klei noted the partnership will feature prominently during the July 12 Member Recognition Round at Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
Alongside the Thunderbirds partnership, RAA has awarded grants to 22 South Australian community groups through its 2025 Grassroots Giving program.
Each recipient will receive up to $5,000 to support projects in community safety, environmental care, social inclusion, and regional development.
Emily Perry, RAA’s general manager for community and corporate affairs, said the initiative reinforces RAA’s focus on social impact across the state.
“These projects support everything from community safety, environmental sustainability, reconciliation activities, and more,” she said.
