NTI has promoted Andrew Kidd (pictured) to chief customer officer, placing him in charge of a cross-functional team that includes underwriting, marketing, actuarial, product management, data and insights, strategy, insurance risk, and reinsurance.

Kidd brings over 35 years of experience in the Australian insurance industry, with a background in marine insurance, underwriting, reinsurance, and risk management.

He joined NTI in 2017 as the company’s inaugural head of marine, overseeing the integration of its marine insurance portfolio.

Since 2022, he led the insurance risk and reinsurance division, managing reinsurance arrangements and strengthening the company’s risk governance framework.

“Andrew has played a key role in strengthening NTI’s risk framework and driving strategic alignment across the business. His deep understanding of the industry, combined with a sharp customer lens, makes him an ideal fit for this critical role,” said recently appointed CEO Janelle Greene.

New role to drive customer strategy and risk oversight

In his new position, Kidd will be coordinating strategy across multiple departments while maintaining a focus on customer outcomes in the logistics sector.

“I’ve been fortunate to work across a number of different areas with some incredible leaders and people across underwriting, reinsurance, and risk. This role is a chance to bring all that knowledge and experience together and help our people achieve even more great outcomes and results,” he said.

Kidd also chairs the Insurance Council of Australia’s Marine Working Group and sits on the International Union of Marine Insurance Cargo Technical Committee.

NTI’s new CEO

NTI recently confirmed that Janelle Greene took over as CEO on July 1.

Greene previously served as chief customer officer and succeeds Tony Clark, who has led NTI for 18 years.

Clark will remain as managing director until his planned retirement in mid-2026.

Board chair Ellie Comerford said Greene’s experience across underwriting, customer experience, marketing, and pricing strategy provides a foundation for guiding the company’s development.

“Janelle brings extensive experience in strategy, project oversight, and cultural and business transformations to the CEO position,” she said. “Since joining NTI 10 years ago, she has earned the respect and admiration of her NTI colleagues, as well as those in the insurance and transport and logistics industries, with her leadership, commitment to continuous improvement, and desire to deeply understand customers and their experiences.”
