The Asia-Pacific region’s insurtech industry is on a trajectory of rapid growth, with market value estimates reaching US$20.8 billion in 2025 and projections indicating expansion to US$52.5 billion by 2030 – and now the cream of the crop has been celebrated in the five-star innovators report.

Selection process for industry innovators

Insurance Business (IB) has published its fifth annual 5-Star Insurance Innovators report, which identifies organisations that are advancing the insurance sector through the adoption of new technologies, product offerings, and distribution models.

The report is designed to spotlight companies that have made notable contributions to industry progress.

The nomination process began in May, with IB inviting insurers, brokerages, and service providers throughout Asia, Australia, and New Zealand to participate. Entrants were asked to describe initiatives launched and results achieved during 2024.

Submissions were evaluated based on the depth of information provided, the originality of the innovation, and demonstrable success. Benchmarking against other entries was also part of the assessment.

Ultimately, 30 organisations were selected as 5-Star Insurance Innovators for 2025.
