Crawford & Company has appointed Tony Chapman (pictured) as the new head of its Global Technical Services division for Asia, effective immediately.

Chapman will be responsible for managing the firm’s complex loss-adjusting operations across the region.

He will be based in Singapore and will report directly to Scott Reichelt, president, Asia at Crawford.

This leadership change is part of Crawford’s broader strategy to expand its technical expertise and reinforce its specialist capabilities in Asia.

Chapman’s experience spans multiple markets

Chapman brings nearly 35 years of experience in the loss adjusting sector.

His background includes handling significant and complex claims in more than 25 countries, covering sectors such as property, construction, power, engineering, and specialist liability, including product recall and product liability.

Before joining Crawford, Chapman was regional managing director for Asia at Integra Technical Services.

He began his career in the UK and has worked in Hong Kong and Singapore since 2007 and 2011, respectively.

In addition to his professional roles, Chapman has contributed to industry development as a founding member of the Asia Power Forum committee and the Construction and Engineering workgroup of the General Insurance Association in Singapore.

Reichelt said Chapman’s appointment is expected to support Crawford’s efforts to further develop its technical capabilities in Asia.

“Tony brings extensive industry experience and wide-ranging expertise across multiple business lines and countries to the position. His appointment demonstrates Crawford’s ongoing commitment to bolstering our technical capabilities in Asia, as we continue to build out our large and complex loss team in the region, with a focus on further enhancing our technical expertise,” he said.

Leadership changes in the Middle East

Crawford & Company recently made several key appointments in its Middle East operations.

In March, the company promoted Ollie Waterman to head the property division, appointed Craig Jones to lead construction and engineering, and named Ronan Mitchell as head of power and energy.

Each is tasked with overseeing claims and loss-adjusting activities in their respective sectors and expanding Crawford’s service capabilities in the region.

All three are based in Dubai and report to Victor Noble, regional director for the Middle East.

Waterman joined Crawford in 2021 and moved to Dubai in 2022.

Jones, who has more than 15 years of experience, previously worked as associate director for the Middle East and Africa at Integra Technical Services.

Mitchell has spent over 10 years in the power and energy sector, with prior roles at Global Risk Solutions and MatthewsDaniel.
